Goodbye to Bart Larmouth & Welcome Miss Sadie Thacker

New Staff at Tailwaters!

All good things must come to an end as they say…  Such was the case when the first employee we ever hired at Tailwaters Fly Fishing Company, Bart Larmouth, turned in his wings this February.  While we knew that the time would eventually arrive for Bart to be drawn away from the concrete jungle of Dallas, the harsh reality has set in that he is no longer here providing his jovial attitude and first rate friendship.

Bart has returned to his home stomping grounds in New York, where he is the manager of the historic Delaware River Club (www.delawareriverclub.com).  If you are ever in need of some old school dry fly fishing back East please give Bart a ring.

Bart is as loyal as they come and he (and Honey Girl) will forever be missed by our staff and customers at Tailwaters.  Thank you, Bart, for your four years of hard work, honesty, professionalism, and dedication.

The Carp in Texas are happy you are gone.

Miss Sadie Thacker. Always with a smile.

If you have called the shop recently, you cannot help but notice a gentile ladylike voice answer the phone.  It may be a lot quieter with Bart gone – but the manners have certainly improved since Sadie Thacker joined the team in March.  A Wichita Falls native, and recent Texas Longhorn grad, Sadie is our new backroom manager.  Her tender demeanor, wonderful sense of humor, and real smarts and organization make her a welcome addition to our staff.  Sadie’s initial responsibilities will be helping with inventory management, e-commerce, assisting in the travel department, and generally making sure we all behave.  She also aspires to give women’s casting lessons and expand on our ladies inventory.

Sadie is already throwing tight loops and getting along well with all the boys.  We could not be more excited to have her on board – and look forward to many years with her at the helm as our “House Mom”.

Miss Sadie Thacker. Always with a smile.
