    Dave Brown Outfitters Overview

Our good friend, and leading fly fishing outfitter in British Columbia and Alberta, Dave Brown, is first and foremost a bird hunter. Dave and his mobile kennel of Brittany Spaniels, Pointers, German Shorthairs, and retrievers are inseparable – even in the drift boat. When not fishing all summer in the Canadian Rockies, Dave is chasing huns and sharptails around the prairies or on point over a covey of quail in Arizona, Montana, Oklahoma, or Texas.

In addition to his incredible fishing programs out of Calgary and Fernie (and everything in between), Dave Brown Outfitters was the first outfit to employ a true string of first class pointing dogs on the vast Canadian Prairies. For the last fourteen years, Dave has been dialing in his gamebird hunting program to include upland hunts for Hungarian Partridge & Sharptail Grouse as well as incredible waterfowl shooting in western Saskatchewan.

The Canadian Prairies are home to some of the best and most reliable upland bird shooting in North America. Dave’s hunts are conducted over WILD BIRDS with his string of highly trained bird dogs. He employs three additional full time guides that cover thousands of square miles of rolling prairie, with basically zero hunting pressure and a lot of birds.

Saskatchewan is North America’s waterfowl factory, and DBO is licensed in a handful of different regions throughout the Province. Bag limits are very liberal, and Dave has the option of keeping guests at a comfortable and strategically located lodge in the heart of the flyway.

    Cast & Blast Option

Dave Brown’s upland hunts can be combined with a few days of pre-spawn brown trout fishing on the Bow River outside of Calgary. As an outfitter with over 14 years of experience guiding anglers and hunters, DBO truly invented this Canadian Cast & Blast.
